Construction Administration, Observation and Staking

Scott Consulting Engineers, P.C., provides construction administration, observation and inspection services.  These services are designed to ensure construction activities are in compliance with the plans and specifications. 

Services include:

• Assist with the bidding process;
• Attend and conduct pre-construction meeting with owner, contractor and subcontractors;
• Provide review of all shop drawings;
• Construction staking;
• Conduct field observations and inspections during construction.  Areas of work requiring special attention include, but are not limited to the following :

               Subgrade work and base rock placement

               Concrete materials evaluation, placement and sampling

               Reinforcing steel placement

               Structural steel erection

               Piping and inlet installation

               Asphalt materials evaluation and placement

               Seeding and plantings

               Pump list and clean-up

• Review Contractor's pay requests and make recommendations to the Client;
• Provide coordination between the Client and the Contractor during construction until satisfactory completion;
• Evaluate and develop change orders, if necessary.
