City/County Map Updating and GIS (Geographic Information Systems)

Scott Consulting Engineers, P.C., has provided the expertise for several map-updating projects in the past few years.  Specifically, we have teamed with local county assessors to provide drafting services for revisions to the County Assessor's tax maps.  This involved layout of newly developed parcels, parcels that transferred ownership, and parcels that had been subdivided.  This service was done without the use of computerized drafting software, and performed at the County Assessors’ offices so public availability of this information was not sacrificed.  In addition to our hand drafting abilities, SCE has full mapping capabilities utilizing modern electronic methods.  Survey information can be directly linked to our mapping database, enabling us to create and maintain up-to-date maps of municipalities.  Our firm also has GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping capabilities enabling us to link intelligent databases to maps.

In recognition of outstanding drafting technique, appearance and clarity in presentations and publications design, the Consulting Engineers Council of Missouri awarded the 1996 Drafting Excellence Award to SCE during the annual mapping competition.
